Happy Friday and welcome back! I hope everyone had a fantastic winter break. The kids (and staff) came back a little sleepy earlier this week, but the passion-based project buzz has spread throughout the building. In less than an hour this morning, I learned about raising pigs, volleyball positions, whales and needlepoint. Plus, Mrs. Johnson said she saw a great presentation on interior design, and Mr. Burger is still smiling about Star Wars – myth vs. reality. Once again, CSA kids never fail to impress!
Our staff shout-out this week goes to the three wonderful ladies nominated for the PTA School Bell Award. Each year, PTA members nominate teachers who go above and beyond for the students and campus in the same way that our fabulous PTA does. This year’s deserving nominees are Mrs. Astrid Rodriguez, Ms. Laura Walpole, and Mrs. Juli Pendergrass. Each of these ladies is a phenomenal asset to Cornerstone, and this year’s winner was…Laura Walpole!!! Congratulations to all three teachers on this well-deserved acknowledgement.
It’s almost movie time! In a joint effort by the PTA at both CSA and AOC, we are happy and excited to show Screenagers Next Chapter: Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience, from the same director of the highly acclaimed Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. This important film examines “helping young people thrive in our screen and stress-filled world.” Please join us in the auditorium for this free showing on Thursday, January 30th at 6:00 p.m., directly after the CSA general PTA meeting at 5:30 p.m. For more information, see the attached flyer or check out www.screenagersmovie.com. Bring a friend…we have plenty of room! Screenagers2020.pdf
