Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to the three-day weekend. Our staff shout-out this week goes to a trio of staff members who worked very hard so the rest of us could enjoy a smooth Chromebook roll-out. Thank you Ms. Dizdar, Mrs. Monroe and Mrs. Vergult. These ladies, along with our district technology folks, ensured that all students received a Chromebook and knew what to do with it. The roll-out went very well, and their efforts are very appreciated.
It’s almost time for our Valentine’s Dance on February 14th, which means it’s also almost time for Parents Night Out. When you drop off your kids at the dance, head over to The Branch at 7710 Long Point for food, drinks, and fun. Also, at this event, PTA will be collecting wine for our upcoming Birthday Bash event. Bring a bottle of wine ($25 value or higher) or a Spec’s gift card ($25 or more) to donate, and each donation will be entered in the raffle. This definitely sounds like a fun way to meet other CSA parents and pass the time while the kids are at the dance. Have fun, parents!
8th grade parents…on January 22nd, it’s time for high school visits. Students will be touring their zoned high schools to get more information. If you’d like to learn more, please see the attachments for upcoming open house hours at SBISD high schools. Still have questions? Please contact Mrs. Johnson for more information. In a joint effort by the PTA at both CSA and AOC, we are happy and excited to show Screenagers Next Chapter: Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience, from the same director of the highly acclaimed Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. This important film examines “helping young people thrive in our screen and stress-filled world.” Please join us in the auditorium for this free showing on Thursday, January 30th at 6:00 p.m., directly after the CSA general PTA meeting at 5:30 p.m. For more information, check out www.screenagersmovie.com. Bring a friend…we have plenty of room!
