The Teen Library Council is organizing a book swap for the entire school. If your child has gently used middle school appropriate books in his or her collection that they would like to bring in to be able to exchange for other books, that would be great! For each book your child (up to a total of 5) brings, they will be eligible to swap for the same number of other books to read. We want to encourage you to help your child do some spring cleaning of their bookshelf and join in the fun. They can bring their books to the library for the next two weeks and then we will conduct the swap in May.

You must register here before you start your committed 10 hours of volunteer service for Cornerstone Academy.
Volunteers are encouraged to apply early so your application can process prior to the start of the new school year. All volunteers must register and gain approval before starting volunteer service each year. If you were approved to volunteer during the 2014-15 school year, your status is valid until October 1, 2015. After that date, all returning volunteers need to be re-registered and approved for the 2015-16 school year.
All volunteers must register online at the SBISD website every year and pass a criminal background check. Volunteers in the 2014-2015 Volunteer Database may volunteer until September 30, 2015. At that time, the system will reset and all volunteers must reregister before being allowed on campus.
Please allow 8-10 days for the criminal background check process to occur. Once approved as a volunteer, please contact your campus or desired program contact to begin your service.
Volunteers must bring a valid, government issued ID the first time they volunteer on campus to have it scanned into the V-Soft system. Each time you are on campus thereafter, SBISD requires volunteers and visitors to wear a V-Soft issued namebadge. Thank you for recognizing that the safety of our schools, our students and our volunteers is of the utmost importance!
